CoPER elects an Executive Committee from within its members to support the President. This committee is composed of two representatives from the Public Research Institutions (EPR) supervised by the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR) and two representatives from the EPRs supervised by other ministries.
The Executive Committee is responsible for handling all matters of ordinary and extraordinary administration, except for those explicitly assigned to the President or the General Assembly by the current regulation. Members of the committee may take on specific tasks assigned by the President or approved by the General Assembly.
The Secretary is appointed by the President and chosen among the personnel of the Public Research Institutions. The Secretary assists the President in preparing matters to be submitted to the Executive Committee and the General Assembly, as well as overseeing the execution of the respective decisions.
